Doing a planner rebuild is good housekeeping for your Sky+HD box, particularly if you’re like me and record lots of stuff simultaneously. It doesn’t delete all the programmes and films you’ve got saved, you may even notice your guide reacting slightly faster. I’d recommend the average user does a planner build once every six months.

During the planner rebuild you’re sky+HD box will reset itself and turn off. Be patient – this can take a good few minutes.

If you’re using the original Sky+ EPG (electronic programming guide) – this is the blue one (without the mini-tv in the right hand corner) then press the following on the remote:

Services – 4 – 0 – 1 – Select

If you’re using the new Sky+HD EPG, use the following on the remote:

Services – 0 – 0 – 1 – Select on the remote

this will take you to a new menu – scroll across too “planner rebuild” and press select.

These have been proven to work on various forums.
